Moving into a new home is exciting and hectic. There is so much to do to make sure your move goes smoothly and to make your new space your own. The Home Safety Council can help you prevent moving day injuries and transform your new home into a safe haven for every member of your family.

Visit MySafeHome.org

HSC has created a first-of-its-kind online tool to help people find and fix the leading causes of accidents in the home. MySafeHome.org allows you to tour a virtual home, room-by-room, learning about the leading causes of serious home injuries. State-of-the-art digital animation will show you the major risk areas, indoors and out, and let you know exactly what to do to keep your loved ones safe.

Room-by-Room Safety: Home Fire Sprinklers

Nothing protects your home and your loved ones from fire better than a home fire sprinkler system. If there is a fire, the heat will cause just one or two sprinklers to go off, spraying water directly on the flames. Fire sprinklers keep the fire small or can even put it out before the fire department arrives. Not only do fire sprinklers save lives (including pets!) and prevent injuries, they also keep the fire and smoke from ruining your things. Click here and select “Kitchen” to see how home fire sprinklers work!
