Safety Rangers Know the Drill

As the only nonprofit organization solely dedicated to preventing unintentional injuries at home, the Home Safety Council continues expanded its home safety resources for educators. As a part of an ongoing effort to bring home safety education into classrooms, the Home Safety Council has partnered with leading education company Weekly Reader to create Safety Rangers Know the Drill, a new fire safety curriculum for elementary classrooms.

“Teachers are a vital partner in our mission to educate and empower families to take actions that will help increase the safety of their homes,” said Home Safety Council president Meri-K Appy. “The Home Safety Council is also committed to providing classrooms with the best tools and resources to help teach children how to identify home hazards and help prevent home-related injuries.”

Rover, the Home Safety Hound, guides students through a variety of fire safety activities. Through the fire safety materials, students will learn the importance of smoke alarms as well as having a home fire escape plan. To use Safety Rangers Know the Drill in your classroom download:
