700 Children and Adults Obtain “Great Safety Ranger” Certification

The Great Safety Adventure Visits Florida

Continuing on its national tour of the States, The Great Safety Adventure visited Florida, represented by Republican Senator Mel Martinez and Republican Congressman Connie Mack (R-FL-14th), for several weeks in March.

Florida saw lots of support from visitors like Karen Cruz, a Field Representative for Senator Martinez, who toured the event while it was at Bonita Springs Elementary in Ft. Myers. Mathew Spielman, a Field Representative for Congressman Mack toured the event while it was at Edison Park Creative School. Collectively, the two schools had over 700 children and adults, all of whom obtained their certification as “Great Safety Rangers.”

“Several kids were having recess in the playground after the conclusion of the event, and we could hear them chanting "Code Red Rover, Grownup Come Over," a tour manager on the Great Safety Ranger said.

As it enters its ninth year on the road, the exhibit continues to educate and inform children and families how to be safer in their homes. The award-winning “field trip on wheels” has, to date, reached over 900,000 children since its inception in 1999.
