June is Home Safety Month – “Hands on Home Safety” PSA (:30)

June is Home Safety Month and the (YOUR DEPARTMENT) is joining forces with the nonprofit Home Safety Council to help families stay safer at home from falls, poisoning and fires and burns – the leading causes of unintentional home injury deaths. Make your home safer with these four actions: light up stairs and steps; lock up poisons; and test your smoke alarms and hot water. Keep water heaters no higher than 120 degrees. This is Home Safety Month. The (YOUR DEPARTMENT) and the nonprofit Home Safety Council are urging (YOUR CITY/TOWN) residents to put your hands on home safety to prevent falls. Light it up! Make sure your home has bright lights over all steps and stairs – indoors and out. Use nightlights in dark hallways and bathrooms. Keep flashlights on hand for power outages. We’re teaming up with the nonprofit Home Safety Council all month to keep (YOUR CITY/TOWN) families safe at home, especially from poisons. All pesticides, chemicals, lawn care, and automotive products should be stored in original containers, with child-resistant caps. Keep all poisons inside locked cabinets.
