Patricia Adkins Chief Operating Officer Patricia Adkins joined the Home Safety Council in 2003 as the organization’s first Chief Operating Officer. Adkins leads the financial and management operations and oversees the Council’s public policy agenda. Adkins brings more than 20 years of management, non-profit, and safety advocacy experience to the Home Safety Council; and provides invaluable guidance and insight in the areas of administration and operations, as well as executive and strategic management. Prior to joining the Home Safety Council, she was Secretary-Treasurer of SAFE – a Safer America for Everyone, where she managed all business affairs and organizational development. Her experience includes more than seven years with the U.S. Consumer Products Safety Commission (CPSC) as the Chief of Staff to the Chairman. There her responsibilities included managing all program and daily activities in a number of departments, as well as providing strategic council on issues including budget development, operating plans and political matters. During Adkins’ tenure at CPSC, she was consistently recognized for her outstanding contributions and received numerous awards for performance excellence. She has also served a number of advocacy and nonprofit organizations including Union Privilege, the Association of Flight Attendants, the Children’s Defense Fund, and the Labor Institute of Public Affairs, AFL-CIO. Patricia Adkins holds Bachelor’s in Liberal Arts and a Master’s in Business Administration from Howard University. |
