About Safety Saturday

The Home Safety Council and Lowe’s believe the best way to improve your home is to make it safer. To help keep the people you love safe from accidents in and around your home, they’ve created “Safety Saturday”. This one-stop resource has ideas and tips on important things you can do in one day or less to get rid of hidden dangers in your home.
Our day-to-day lives are filled with work, school, sports, clubs and chores. It’s hard to add anything extra to a busy work week. But weekends are family time. And “Safety Saturday” news and projects will allow you to take a few simple steps to protect the people and things that mean the most to you. To make it easy, we’re offering these top safety ideas one topic at a time, one Saturday at a time.
Make Every Saturday a Safety Saturday
Set aside one Saturday this month as a “Safety Saturday” to work with your family on an electricity safety makeover in your home. Our homes are filled with things that run on electricity. Electricity makes our lives easier, but it can also be dangerous if you’re not careful.

September 26 was National “Safety Saturday” at Lowe’s
The Home Safety Council and Lowe’s kicked off Fire Safety Month on Saturday, September 26 with special “Safety Saturday” events at local Lowe’s stores across the country.
Representatives from local fire departments and public safety organizations were on hand to provide home safety materials and information for families in their communities. Thousands of children attended Lowe’s Build & Grow Clinics and built fire trucks to take home for their families. Families were also able to talk with their local fire fighters and ask questions about their own home fire safety needs.
