2010

Halo Silver Award (Cause Marketing Forum)
The Home Safety Council and Toys “R” Us received a Cause Marketing Halo Silver Award in the Best Social Service/Education Campaign for their baby safety campaign.

Distinguished Achievement Award (Association of Educational Publishers)
The Home Safety Council’s Start Safe program received an Association of Education Publishers Distinguished Achievement Award in the preschool teaching aids curriculum category.

2009

Silver Anvil Awards [Public Relations Society of America (PRSA)]
The Home Safety Council received a Silver Anvil – the PR industry’s highest honor – in the Reputation and Brand Management category for its 2008 Safe Haven Campaign.

Partner of the Year Award [State and Territorial Injury Prevention Directors Association (STIPDA)]
Patricia Adkins received the award for her instrumental role in the enactment of the Safety of Seniors Act in 2008 and her continued leadership in the effort to secure Congressional funding to address falls among older adults.

Everett E. Hudiburg Award [International Fire Service Training Association (IFSTA)]
Meri-K Appy received this award for her 25+ year commitment to fire and life safety education.

Literacy Leadership Award [National Coalition for Literacy (NCL)]
The National Coalition of Literacy recognized the Home Safety Council’s Home Safety Literacy Project with its 2009 Literacy Leadership Award.

2008

SOPHE Awards (Society for Public Health Education)
Annual SOPHE Trophy went to Dr. Angela Mickalide for demonstrating her exemplary leadership and commitment to the organization.

Thoth Awards (PRSA National Capital Chapter)
The Great Safety Adventure’s 2007 tour was recognized with a THOTH Award from PRSA’s National Capital Chapter as the best Public Service Campaign.
The Home Safety Council also received Certificates of Excellence in the Reputation/Brand Management and Public Service categories for the 2007 Safe Haven Awareness Campaign (Reputation/Brand Management) and In Hot Water Scald Burn Awareness campaign.

Phoenix Awards (PRSA Georgia Chapter)
PRSA’s Georgia Chapter awarded the Home Safety Council with a Phoenix Award for Public Service/Associations/Nonprofit Organizations for their 2007 In Hot Water Scald Burn Awareness campaign.
HSC also received a Phoenix certificate for Reputation/Brand Management - Nonprofit Organizations for their 2007 Safe Haven Awareness Campaign.

Silver Inkwell Awards (IABC Washington, D.C.)
The Home Safety Council’s Safe and Ready Webinar Series for fire and life safety professionals received a Silver Inkwell Award of Excellence from IABC’s Washington DC chapter in the Online Training and Education Materials category.
HSC’s 2007 Home Safety Month Campaign also received a Silver Inkwell Merit Award for Communication Plans or Campaign/Issue or Advocacy Campaign.

Golden Flame Awards (IABC Atlanta Chapter)
The Home Safety Council took home two Bronze Flames from the Atlanta Chapter of IABC for their 2007 In Hot Water Campaign (Communications Campaign) and 2007 Safe Haven Awareness Campaign (Media Relations Campaign).

M Awards (American Marketing Association Washington, D.C.)
The Great Safety Adventure’s 2007 tour was rewarded with an M award from the local DC chapter of American Marketing Association for Promotional Items/Exhibits.

2007

MarCom Creative Awards
HSC earned a Gold Award in the TV Placement category from MarCom for its 2006 Home Fire Safety Segment on the CBS Early Show and also received a Platinum Award in the same category for its 2006 Home Fire Safety Segment on the Today Show.

HSC received two Thoth Awards for their 2006 Great Safety Adventure tour (Public Service Campaign) and the 2006 Home Safety Month Campaign (Reputation and Brand Management).

Silver Inkwell Awards (IABC Washington, D.C.)
The 2006 Home Safety Month Campaign won a Silver Inkwell Award of Merit in the Communications Plans and Campaigns category.

M Awards (American Marketing Association Washington, D.C.)
HSC went home with three M Awards for their 2006 Great Safety Adventure Tour (Promotional Items and Exhibit), 2006 Home Safety Month Campaign (Media Public Relations Nonprofit Campaign) and 2006 Safe Haven Awareness Campaign (Nonprofit Campaign). The 2006 Home Safety Month Campaign was also a finalist for Integrated Marketing Campaign of the year.

Health Literacy Awards (Institute for Healthcare Advancement)
The Home Safety Council’s Home Safety Literacy Project earned a Home Literacy Award for their commitment to literacy education.

SABRE Awards (Holmes Report)
The Great Safety Adventure 2005 tour was a finalist for a SABRE Award in the Marketing to Youth category.

SABRE Awards (Holmes Report)
The Home Safety Council was a finalist for a Gold SABRE Award in the Marketing to Youth category.

MarCom Creative Awards
Platinum Award, Home Safety Council received both a Platinum Award and Gold Award as well as a Gold Award for the Great Safety Adventure Tour.

Telly Awards
The Home Safety Council’s Public Service Announcement (PSA) “Storytime” earned a finalist position for a Telly Award.

Two Thoth Awards were given to the Home Safety Council for Home Safety Month Campaign (Media Relations) and HSC’s Public Service Announcement “Storytime” (Television PSAs).

Phoenix Awards (PRSA Georgia Chapter)
HSC accepted a Phoenix Award each for the Great Safety Adventure Tour (Public Service by Associations and Nonprofit Organizations) and their Twelve Month Visibility Campaign (Media Relations by Associations and Nonprofit Organizations).
They also accepted Certificates of Excellence for the Great Safety Adventure Tour (Media Relations by Associations and Nonprofit Organizations) and their Twelve Month Visibility Campaign (Public Service by Associations and Nonprofit Organizations).

Home Safety Council accepted a Web Standard of Excellence Award.

Kid Power Award
The Great Safety Adventure was a Kid Power Award Finalist.

MarCom Creative Awards
The Great Safety Adventure was a Gold MarCom Award Finalist and the Home Safety Council received Honorable Mention.

Halo Awards (Cause Marketing Forum)
The Great Safety Adventure was honored with the Gold Halo Award for Best Cause-Marketing Event of the Year.

Phoenix Awards (PRSA Georgia Chapter)
Home Safety Council’s Twelve Month Visibility Program earned a Phoenix Award for Institutional Programs and Nonprofit Organizations category while HSC’s PSA “Storytime” earned on in the Television PSAs category.
HSC took home three Certificates of Excellence for Home Safety Month (Special Events or Observances (more than seven days) for Associations and Nonprofit Organizations), the Great Safety Adventure Tour (Media Relations for Association, Government and Nonprofits) and HSC’s Web site (Web sites).

Golden Flame Awards (IABC Atlanta Chapter)
The Great Safety Adventure Tour earned a Golden Flame Award.

Amy Awards (American Marketing Association Atlanta Chapter)
Home Safety Council was an Amy Award Finalist for their Web Site.
