The Great Safety Adventures Welcomes Congressional Guests in Massachusetts and Utah

Home Safety Month 2007 kicked off early this year, when our Safety Rangers joined Congressman James McGovern (D-MA-3rd) as he toured the Great Safety Adventure at City View Elementary in Worcester, MA on May 29. McGovern joined the 2007 kick-off by accompanying a classroom full of children through the GSA and emerged as a freshly appointed Safety Ranger. With over 400 adults and children touring the GSA that day, McGovern applauded the Home Safety Council for their safety messages geared directly to kids.

In Utah, the West Coast GSA team also welcomed a special guest while the exhibit visited Cottonwood Heights Elementary on June 1st. Annette Call, Field Director for Rep. Chris Cannon (R-UT), joined the children on a tour of the exhibit, and met with Rover the Home Safety Hound and our Safety Rangers.

Thanks to the great work of our Safety Rangers, Call visited the exhibit again on June 2nd during a stop at the local Lowe's, this time accompanied by her kids.

Entering its ninth year on the road, the exhibit has become one of the Home Safety Council's flagship programs, reaching nearly 1 million children and caregivers since it launched in 1999.

The exhibit is also fast becoming a major draw for Members of Congress and their district staffers, with 10 staffer visits to the GSA this year alone.
